SMOOSH Philosophy
SMOOSH Staff and Management Committee believe that before and after school care should be a fun and supportive place where children and their families are welcome.
SMOOSH is a place where children are able to be involved in the planning of what they do, where play is encouraged and considered to be an important part of a child’s development.
Our programmed activities are aimed at enhancing a child’s development, providing opportunity to develop new skills, while promoting individual interest.
Children are provided with opportunity to further their independence and self help skills while in a safe and caring environment.
Children are encouraged to accept and value others, their differences and similarities as well as valuing our community’s cultural diversity through our program.
Our service welcomes parent involvement in our programmed activities and encourages parents to be involved in decision making on issues of policies and programming. Our service maintains open communication and good relations between children, parents, staff, management, school and the community. 15/10/2009
